So Guess What I Did?

Yesterday, I did the scariest thing any author can do. I deleted my book!
I would read and edit. And each time, the story did not feel like me. It didn’t fit what I wanted to share with the world. In other words, it was a snoozer! And I knew it.
It’s like, I know how to tell a story. I know how not to bore someone to tears. But this thing didn’t show it.
So, with the power of YouTube, I watched a video about mistakes new authors tend to make. And one of the biggest mistakes we newborns tend to do, is not letting the baby go. See what I did there. Stop holding on to a draft because you like a line or two.
My husband and youngest daughter couldn’t believe I deleted my work. And baby, their faces were priceless. But once I explained why I had to do it, they understood.
The funny thing is, the few paragraphs, yes, paragraphs, are better than the few chapters I’ve deleted.
I’m going to a writer’s conference this weekend to speak with some literary agents. I can’t wait to say, “I’m writing a novel, it’s about my life, but I deleted it. LMBO!
But you know what, God is good, and I’m not worried. Everything is going to be alright.

UPDATE:
All three agents loved my pitch and are interested in my novel series and my podcast!
